Currently Google has launched a new application called Chrome Offline Gmail. Separate from Gmail itself, this new application designed to access, manage and send email while you are disconnected from the web. In this latest application the user can feel the HTML5 standard that enables working offline. App HTML5 looks and feels very similar to the Gmail application for the tablet. That's because Gmail Offline is based off of a tablet version, which is designed to function with or without Internet access. It focuses on the key features users need to access when offline, including organizing, starring, labeling, filing and responding to emails. It will not give you access to the Gmail Labs feature, but will get the job.
Google also held the ability to access the Calendar and Docs offline. This feature, available by clicking on gear icon at the top of the page, allowing you to view events and RSVP for an appointment in Calendar, and view documents in Documents. Offline editing of documents not yet available, but Google promised to find ways to make it work. Part of the problem is finding a way to make sure the document edits made online will not rule edits made by online collaborators.
Applications are only available through the Chrome Web Store now. If you try to use the Calendar or Docs offline feature, you will be prompted to first install Chrome. Google said that it plans to bring its offline applications to other browsers when they support these functions.
