The New Facebook Makes Photos Bigger & Faster

Facebook has recently launched a new version of the popular photo applications, complete with improved speed faster and a larger image.

"Now, the photos you share on Facebook larger (from 720 pixels to 960 pixels) and loading two times faster, giving you quick access to more detailed images," said Justin Shaffer Facebook in a blog post. "The photo you've uploaded to your profile will also be displayed in higher resolution."
Facebook also provides an image viewer with some changes. The new viewer to take up more screen real estate (because the image is now bigger) and reduces the stain so that users can focus on images and not others.

"Now the light box with a simple white background that puts more focus on the photos, and less on the frame around it," Shaffer said.
